What Vocelle can and cannot see
We can't read your words. That's not a promise in a policy — it's how the app is built. The tables below say exactly what stays on your device and exactly what ever leaves it. The precision is the proof.
Stays on your device — always
| What | Where it lives |
|---|---|
| Your audio | In memory on the Neural Engine during transcription, then gone. Never written to disk. |
| Your transcripts & history | On your Mac. Searchable, deletable, clearable by you. |
| Your personal dictionary | On your Mac. Imported from your other tools, kept local. |
Ever leaves your device
| What | Detail |
|---|---|
| Your voice | Never. |
| Your text | Never. |
| Telemetry / analytics | None. |
| The one exception | The speech model itself is downloaded once, from us to you. After that, Vocelle has nothing to phone home about. |
Privacy policy
Effective date: July 3, 2026 · Applies to the Vocelle macOS app and this website.
The short version
We collect nothing. Vocelle transcribes your speech on your Mac, stores your history on your Mac, and sends us no data — no audio, no text, no analytics, no crash reports, no identifiers. This website sets no cookies and runs no trackers. The one network request Vocelle makes on our behalf is downloading the speech model, once. The rest of this policy exists to say that precisely.
What the app collects
Nothing. In detail:
- Audio. Your voice is captured only while you hold the dictation key (or while hands-free mode is on), processed in memory on your Mac's Neural Engine, and discarded. It is never written to disk and never transmitted anywhere.
- Transcripts and history. Stored only in local files on your Mac. We have no copy, no access, and no way to obtain one. You can search, delete individual entries, or clear the whole history from within the app.
- Personal dictionary. Stored only on your Mac, including anything you import from other dictation apps.
- Telemetry and analytics. None. Vocelle contains no analytics framework, no usage tracking, and no crash reporting. We do not know how often you use the app, what you dictate, or whether you use it at all.
The one network request
On first run, Vocelle downloads the Whisper large-v3-turbo speech model (about 1.6 GB) from our server, once. That request necessarily exposes your IP address to our server for the duration of the download, the same way visiting any website does. We do not log it against an identity, build a profile from it, or link it to a purchase. After the model is downloaded, Vocelle works fully offline and makes no further requests.
Purchases
If you buy Pro or Lifetime, the payment is handled by the payment processor or app marketplace you buy through. They send us what we need to activate your license — typically a receipt or license identifier and the email you choose to give — and nothing about your dictation, which we couldn't receive anyway. Their handling of your payment details is governed by their own privacy policies.
This website
This site is static files. It sets no cookies, runs no JavaScript, embeds no third-party fonts, pixels, or analytics, and keeps no visitor records of its own. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp) for operational purposes; we do not use them to identify or track visitors.
What we could hand over
If we received a legal demand for your dictation data, we could not comply in any meaningful way, because the data does not exist on our side. Your audio is never retained anywhere. Your transcripts exist only on your Mac. The honest inventory of what we hold about a paying customer is: a license record and, if you gave one, an email address.
Children
Vocelle is not directed at children under 13, and since we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect none from children either.
Your rights
Privacy laws in various places (GDPR, CCPA, and others) give you rights to access, correct, and delete personal data a company holds about you. For Vocelle, the exercise of those rights is short: for dictation data, there is nothing to request, because we hold nothing. For license records, email support and we will show you or delete what little exists.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change what data Vocelle handles — for example, if a future feature genuinely requires a network service — we will update this policy before shipping the change, state plainly what's new, and note the date at the top. We will not quietly widen this policy.
