What changed, plainly

Every release, listed honestly. One entry so far — Vocelle is new.

v0.1 · July 2026

Initial macOS release

The first public release of Vocelle for Apple Silicon Macs on macOS 26. What's in it:

  • Hold-to-dictate: hold right-⌘ anywhere, speak, release — cleaned text types itself at your cursor in any app, including terminals, code editors, and browsers.
  • Whisper large-v3-turbo transcription, 100% local on the Neural Engine. Audio never leaves the Mac and is never written to disk.
  • On-device cleanup with the guardrail: output must retain at least half of the speaker's words, or deterministic cleanup takes over.
  • Crash-safe write-ahead log — every dictation is saved before it's processed.
  • Live waveform overlay while dictating.
  • Searchable dictation history with per-entry delete.
  • Personal dictionary, with one-click import from other dictation apps.
  • Hands-free mode.
  • Fully offline after the one-time model download (~1.6 GB).

The iPhone keyboard is in development and will appear here when it ships — not before.
